The Veterans Cricket Club, on behalf of the NRW CU, will be organising a youth cricket camp on the 26th of April at the Bonn cricket grounds from 11a.m. till 6 p.m. On this day, the NRW U-19, U-17, and U-15 teams will be selected. These teams will then represent NRW against teams from France, Holland and England during the 2014 season.

The selection committee includes a number of qualified coaches who will help select the teams and NRW Captain and ex-Pakistan player Opens external link in new windowRauf Akbar will be on hand to help with technical coaching and to pass on his experience and knowledge gained as a first class cricketer.

For the first time for youth work in Bonn, a bowling machine will be used; this has been donated by Ravi Navaratnam and Dortmund CC for the benefit of cricket development in the region and will definitely help to improve the batting skills of our players.

Snacks and drinks will be supplied to the players free of charge by sponsors Immobilien Perera and the event will be covered by the General Anzeiger and Blickpunkt newspapers of Bonn.

The first match for the U-19 team will be on 28th of June in Bonn against a youth team from France and we very much look forward to seeing how our young guys go.
