Umpiring course
NRWCU is working very hard to improve the standards of cricket in NRW. Umpiring is a very important part of cricket and we know the importance of this department in cricket. To improve the standards of umpiring, NRWCU is organizing an umpiring course on 02.04.2016 under the supervision of John Holder. From this season only certified umpires will stand in official matches. Each member club must provide at least 3 names of their members who will join this umpiring course. The deadline to provide these names is 15.03.2016. If a club fails to nominate 3 members till the deadline, that club will be fined. As mentioned earlier, only certified umpires will stand in the official matches of NRW. If someone has already done an umpiring course, he must provide NRWCU the certificate of that course. NRWCU will decide if that certificate is equivalent to our standards or not. NRWCU has also decided to increase the fee of umpiring per match and at the same time reduce it for the clubs. For example from now an umpire will get 60€ per 50 over match instead of 50€. But each club will pay only 15€ per 50 over match, instead of 25€. The umpire will get 30€ directly from NRWCU per 50 over match. But an umpire will get 30€ from NRWCU only if he stands for umpiring in at least 3 matches.
NRWCU also wants to have a very strict disciplinary committee. We are planning to pick members of disciplinary committee from the umpiring panel. In this way we will have a separate and strong department which will be responsible for discipline, rules and regulations of cricket in NRW. This is a very major step towards professionalism and we want the support of clubs in order to achieve our goals. NRWCU request all member clubs of NRWCU to nominate at least 3 members of their clubs before the deadline of 15.03.2016. You can find the registration form below. Fill this form and send your nominations directly to Shuja Ahmed at shuja.ahmed@nrwcricket.de.
